With the long drought of last year and the much needed rain of this spring, many have seen a large number of heel flies chasing around cattle in the pastures.  Heel flies, more commonly referred to as cattle grubs, are large non-feeding, non-biting flies that attach their eggs to the leg hairs of cattle.  The larvae grow within the body of the animal and can cause millions of dollars’ worth of damage.  Regular deworming will prevent cattle grub infestations.
