The stable fly is the #1 pest of cattle nationwide.  Both male and female adults take a large blood meal each day which inflicts severe pain to the host.  Large populations of stable flies cause cattle to cease feeding, bunch and stomp their feet excessively.   Controlling stable fly populations is very difficult and management of waste and feed is a must.
